Councillor donates K100,000 towards televised SDA church services

MWEMBESHI Ward 27 Councillor and Eden University chief executive officer Kelvin Kaunda has donated K105,000 to Chunga Main Seventh day Adventist church (SDA).

The donation is to help the SDA church pay for televised services in the wake of COVID-19 gathering restrictions.

Kaunda observed that the SDA Church had faced many challenges during the ranging COVID-19 pandemic incurring costs through sponsorship of televised services on Hope Channel and City Television.

“It is in this vain that am donating this amount to help in sponsoring the services on TV so that people can continue worshiping at home to avoid contact, “Kaunda said.

Kaunda said the donation would also help towards the construction of six SDA churches in the in Matero Constituency where his ward is located.

Further, Kaunda said President Lungu appreciated the church’ active role in mitigating the effects of COVID-19.

Recieving the donation on behalf of the Church, Elder George Bwalya of Chunga SDA Main Church said the donation would go along way in helping the church with some of it urgent programs.

Elder Bwalya thanked President Lungu for creating a conducive environment for the church in the country.
