Home Affairs Minister, Stephen Kampyongo says it is sad and shameful that no one from Southern Province seems to acknowledge President Edgar Lungu’s development agenda in the region.
During the handover of 50 police houses in Mazabuka last week, Kampyongo said he used the Great North Road to the district and was impressed with works on the road.
He says the Mazabuka – Kafue Turnpike road that was a song by the opposition is almost complete, but they are still not appreciating.
“Inspector General and the Commissioner General, you are not praising where there is nothing. You are praising what you are seeing, because that’s what even God teaches us.And to those that don’t appreciate, even God is able to see, what you are doing Mr President,” he said.
“Yesterday, I came by road your Excellency – the road which was a song in parliament, when Hon.Chitotela was at infrastructure.Today, the works are progressing very well, your Excellency, and very soon our people will be travelling very well in between Mazabuka and Lusaka. And we can’t have people from here to just come and acknowledge that you are working for the people here? It’s so sad and shameful. We need to appreciate because it’s just human and appreciate development.”
