Adoptions have continued to cause confusion in political parties as the United Party for National Development-UPND in Ndola is rocked by infighting where some officials of Kawama Ward have rejected the adoption of a named candidate.
The unhappy members that gathered a short distance from the district office led by Vice Ward Secretary Tom Zimba says 120 branches unanimously chose George Kalenga but the party decided to betray the people by settling for Lex Musonda.
Mr. Zimba says failure to listen to the people will have dire consequences on the UPND that is seen by many as the preferred party to replace the Patriotic Front (PF).
The confusion in the UPND is the second in about 24 hours after some UPND members in Mazabuka District in Southern Province staged a protest to demand a reversal of the adoption of one of its councillor candidates.
