This is the story of former UNZALAW president and UNZASU speaker Gift Beene.

Gift suffered while young but he never let his problems get in the way of attaining an education.
He eventually found himself at UNZA after many struggles because his parents died while he was young.

Today, he has graduated from UNZA with a degree in law๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿพ

Gift told Zambia Reports:
โ€œMany have graduated but my story is different. I come from a humble background without parents. I initially came from the village where I was greatly abused. After passing my Grade 9 with flying colours, my uncle brought me to Lusaka to do my secondary education. Unfortunately, he died when I was in Grade 11. I struggled as I did not know what to do because at the time I didnโ€™t know any relatives from town as I was still a villager. I found myself staying in Matero. I had shelter of course in Matero but had no means of transport. I used to walk on foot from Matero to Arakan Boys. My friends would laugh at me for showing up in class at break time. Teachers at some point advised that I change school but that was impossible because my late uncle had already paid tuition fees. I used to cry day and night until a colleague from church who was also classmate came to my aid. He spoke to his mother about my situation. She listened and allowed me to stay in her house in Nyumba Yanga. This woman provided everything for me until I wrote my Grade 12 exams. I passed with flying colours and went to Unza to study law barely two months after the demise of dad. As a villager, of course English was a challenge! I doubted my abilities! How did I have such a big dream of becoming a lawyer at the highest institution of learning in the country without English? It started like a joke. I thought it was impossible for me to compete with brilliant students from town. Nevertheless, God saw me through.I am proud today that I am graduating from the university of Zambia with a law degree.
Never give up in life. God bless you.โ€
