Zambia’s Chipolopolo Boys have left for Ghana for the crucial World Cup qualifier in Ghana’s second city of Kumasi.

QFM Sport reports that the Chipolopolo boys who were scheduled to leave for the battle ground yesterday but could not get clearance from the Ghanaian Aviation authorities to land in Kumasi, left this morning aboard a chartered South African plane at about 08:30 hours.

The chartered plane carrying the players has left for Ghana despite not being cleared to land in Kumasi meaning the team will have to land in ACCRA and connect to Kumasi by road covering a distance of about 500 km.

The team has already lost two days of training ahead of tomorrow’s crucial encounter against the Black Stars which the Chipolopolo must win to progress to the final round of qualifiers.

Meanwhile Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has hinted he will not field captain Asamoah Gyan for the crunch 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Zambia if he is not 100 percent fit.

The Al Ain ace could not complete Tuesday’s training session in Accra after limping off injured and trained alone on Wednesday in Kumasi.
