Years Back

Musician Wesley Chibambo aka Dandy Krazy ,often in the habit of bashing local awards for what he says are meagre incentives in comparison with what he is paid for a performance, was last week in Perth, Australia, for a show.
And if the response he got after performing at the Hellenic Club 75 Stirling Street Perth where tickets were priced at AU$60 is anything to go by, then he may be getting another invitation to perhaps get back there. The man, whose song Don’t Kubeba (corrupted to Donchi Kubeba) was a major catalyst in the last general elections, attracted a crowd of about 300. Now, that is not a small number by any means.

Most Zambian musicians ‘Dibili Dibili’ Dandy gets Perth crazy who go to perform outside the country only attract a handful of people, mostly Zambians resident there. But Dandy Krazy was different, at least in Perth, according to the Weekend Mail source in Australia who attended the show that was organised by Shot Box Entertainment. “The show started around 18:00 hours, and he performed for over two hours.
About 300 or so people attended, people were all happy to see Dandy Krazy” Chileya Musonda told Daily Mail from her base in Australia. It is what you expect from a man boasting a string of hits such as Heavy Dimbwi, Bachelor, Mummy, Bachelor, Bedsheet, Osayenda, Insala Kapondo, Married Man, Kachepa, Ulupili, Not Guilty, Chintelelwe and Dibili Dibili of course. Meanwhile, after the disappointment of failing to win the Zambian Music Awards for Best Female Musician which went to Judy Yo,more disappointment followed Mampi last week.

After failing to make it to her show in Congo Brazzaville. “I just want to apologise to my Brazzaville fans for not making it for the show because the promoters messed us up but I will come and make up for it soon, much love all the way from Zambia,” she posted on her fan page where she boasts of over 57,000 followers.
Mampi has been on the move in the last few months, performing in a number of states in the United States of America, Australia, Uganda, Zimbabwe and such places as Malaysia and Papua New Guinea.
