Chipolopolo stars Stophilla Sunzu and Nathan Sinkala played 90 minutes in French Ligue One side FC Sochaux-Montbéliard 2-0 win over Toulouse FC on Saturday night.
Sunzu, who has won the club’s player of the month award for the third time in a row, was presented with the March honour before the match. He remained a rock in the defence.
Sinkala also had an impressive game as an anchor while striker Emmanuel Mayuka’s days on the bench continued with fading hope the on-loan Southampton man will make the grade.
Jordan Ayew, the Ghanaian striker and Contout were on target in the 15th and 49 minute to give the Herve Renard coached side a lifeline in their struggle to survive relehation.
Sochaux have moved from bottom of the table when Sunzu and Sinkala to 17th on the 20-team log commandeered by Paris Saint Germain. Renard’s boys have 30 points.
