The Millers Association of Zambia has projected a reduction in mealie meal prices following government’s announcement of a bumper harvest in the 2013/2014 farming season.
Association President Allan Sakala told journalists in an interview that consumers should soon expect a drop in the prices of the commodity.
Mr. Sakala said the surplus maize production is encouraging and will result in significant mealie meal reduction.
Agriculture Minister Wylbur Simuusa yesterday announced that the country has recorded a maize bumper harvest for the 2013/2014 crop forecasting survey results.
