The Lusaka Magistrate Court has sentenced a 25-year-old man of Lusaka to four years and six months imprisonment with hard labour for masquerading as a medical doctor.
Magistrate Sheila Mweene noted that the offence which Bonaventure Ng’uni committed for impersonating a doctor working for Levy Mwanawasa General Hospital and the University Teaching Hospital-UTH was an insult to the Doctors’ profession.
Shortly before sentencing, Bonaventure stated that he was forced to commit such an offence due to lack of employment.
Bonaventure of George compound was facing four counts of impersonating a medical doctor and swindled a patient out of One Hundred and Sixty Kwacha at Levy Mwanawawa General Hospital.
