Fourth Revolution leader Eric Chanda has been insulting President Edgar Chagwa Lungu and PF out of bitterness and frustration because PF Secretary General Davies Chama refused to give him money for his 2015 presidential campaign.
During the 2015 presidential campaigns Chanda called Mr Chama several times to beg for money for his campaigns. On one occasion when Chanda called Mr Chama I followed the conversation and I remember Mr Chama telling Chanda that it would not make sense to give him money for his campaigns. His response was that if he successfully campaigned he would split the vote for the opposition and PF would benefit from the development. After the call, I and Mr Chama scoffed at Chanda’s thinking because we shared the view that his thinking was fallacious.
Against this background, I am convinced that Eric Chanda who I fired as my Secretary General in Alliance for a better Zambia (ABZ) is a turncoat who maliciously criticizes PF during the day and then pesters its members in the night begging for money. As such, Zambians shouldn’t entertain Chanda’s misguided statements against President Lungu and the PF government.
Eric Chanda should wake up to the reality that PF will never give him money for his campaigns because it would be against the values of the party. He should just find means to fundraise for his party and criticize the PF government constructively. In fact, if Chanda shows mature leadership he may catch the attention of some members of the public and attract funding. He should realize that insulting President Lungu will only earn him some few coins from evil people who have an agenda to malign our hardworking Republican President.
