SOCCER FANS NOT HAPPY WITH ZNBC’S FAILURE TO BROADCAST LIVE THE AFCON UNDER 20 GAMES
SOCCER fans have expressed displeasure over ZNBC’s failure to broadcast live the AFCON under 20 games which started this Sunday and hosted by Zambia.
The fans say they would want to watch the games live on television but are unhappy that the national broadcaster is unable to televise the live games.
Others have appealed to Government though the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Services to assist ZNBC with the balance of money needed to enable the national broadcaster pay for the required license fee to show the games as it is not too late.
The fans feel it is much safe to watch the games in their houses than travelling long distances to watch the matches at the stadium during the nights.
However in a statement by the Corporate Affairs Office, ZNBC said the following;
“ZNBC is owing CAF $750,000 for the 2015 edition of the Africa Cup of Nations as of December 31st 2016. We were charged $141,424 as interest charges. For the 2017/2018 CAF competition package which includes the Under 20 tournament being held in Zambia .ZNBC has been requested to pay £400,000.” read the statement in part
