Former Agriculture Deputy Minister Allan Mbewe has observed that the country is likely to face a food crisis this year following the delay in the distribution of farming inputs by the government.
Mr. Mbewe has noted that the country may end up importing yellow maize this year in view of some reports of hunger breaking out in some areas, which he says might be a tip of an iceberg.
Mr. Mbewe who is also Movement for Multi-Party Democracy- MMD -Chadiza Central Member of Parliament has told Qfm in an interview the Patriotic Front government should learn from how the previous government handled the Agriculture sector .
He said the Agriculture sector deserves a lot of attention than the PF government is currently giving it.
