Chamanga has said that he fully understood that the decision was made in the interest of Zambia’s ambitions to qualify for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
The 32-year-old striker, who has been part of Zambia attacking mainstay since 2006, is one of three veteran players dropped for the March 24 qualifier away to Lesotho.
“My heart is always with the team,” Chamanga said.
“At this time I wish the team all the best and I know I am still a part of the team.”
Chamanga said he will now turn his attention to impressing his new Chinese club Lianoning Whowin after leaving Dalian Shide whom he has been with since arriving in China in 2008 from Moroka Swallows.
“For me I trust the coach and what he is doing; that is giving everyone a chance,” Chamanga said.
“I am sure for the coming games when I work hard, I will play.
“For now, it is not about me it’s about Brazil 2014. So all we want is to win the coming games. From me God bless the team.”
Chamanga was dropped for Zambia’s trip to Maseru together with Free State Stars midfielder Noah Chivuta and clubless defender Kampamba Chintu.
