“Dununa reverse” was the hit song loved by many Zambians during and after the 2016 general elections. It was never played without the elation of many who would troop to dance.
This time around the song has become a bitter pill for many Zambians to swallow.
The escalating mealie meal prices, fuel hikes, loadshedding and general cost of living has made many Zambians turn against the PF administratin to the point where anything related to the pf government is being loathed by the people including the dununa reverse song.
On 1st October 2019 a bus driver of a toyota hiace plate number BAJ 8324 from Chelstone to town center played the dununa reverse song hoping the commuters will be amuzed. But to the contrary, comutters started mumbling about the song.
Before long one of the passengers asked the conductor to stop the song and instead put another. The conductor seemed relactant but almost all the passengers turned their anger on him and ordered him and the driver to change the song. Sensing that anger of the passengers, the driver immediately stoped the song and put another to the jubilation of the passengers.
Some passengers spoken to said it was a mockery to them for the driver to be playing such a song when things were not going on well in the country. Among the things passengers complained about was the high cost of mealie meal, fuel price hikes and the negative impact of load-shading on their businesses.
