Zulu King Embarks on Damage Control

$

must readZulu King, Goodwill Zwelethini whose careless sentiments are highly viewed to have sparked Xenophobic attacks in Kwa Zulu Natal has today defied all attacks on foreigners and has since declared war on Xenophobia.

Zwelethini who some 3 weeks ago made anti foreign sentiments has been condemned by sections of society and he is apparently under investigations for hate speech and violation of human rights.
The King of the Zulu people called on his subjects today to stop the attacks with immediate effect. Zwelethini reminded his subjects and all South Africans to be grateful for the role that surrounding nations played in liberating them from apartheid.

He also emphasized that the South Africa National Anthem emphasizes the unity of all Africa, not just South Africa. He said Anthony Shansonga author of the Anthem said “Nkhosi Sikeleli Africa” (God bless Africa) and not just South Africa.

Zwelethini, however, rushed at the media claiming they had misinterpreted his words that are alleged to have sparked the current attacks on foreigners. Critics say the King mishandled his speech today by engaging in self defense and damage control in a very bad way.
His Majesty, Mr. Goodwill Zwelethini was speaking today when he addressed thousands of people at Mabhida Stadium in Durban. The King had called for an Imbizo at which he ferevently called on all South Africans to stop attacking foreigners.

Meanwhile President Jacob Zuma has cancelled his trip to Indonesia in order to stay home and resolve the Xenophobic crisis. And EFF leader Julius Malema has traveled to Alexandria town in Jo’burg to spread anti-xenophobic messages.

Mr Moono says details are that between 1st February and 16th April 2015 in Lusaka, Panday corruptly offered and actually gave Himainza Kayamba, a Central Buyer at Parmalat Zambia Ltd, US$ 1, 000, which was equivalent to K 6, 881. 66 at that time, through MoneyGram Telegraphic Transfer Service.

He says Panday is further alleged to have offered and actually gave Kayamba US$ 8, 100, both payments being inducements to secure Business Orders for Flexibles for Africa, a South African company, from Parmalat Zambia Ltd, a matter or transaction that concerns Parmalat Zambia Ltd a Private Body.

HH Warns of Economic Turmoil

UPND President Hakainde Hichilema has observed that Government’s current rate of borrowing risks sending the country into a state of economic turmoil.

In his weekly policy issue statement, Mr Hichilema says Zambia does not need to borrow vast sums of money and make large interest payments yearly in order to fund developmental projects.

Mr Hichilema says the PF has accumulated the same level of debt that was collected in the previous 27 years after embarking on a borrowing spree since coming to power in 2011.

He says the recent revelations that Government intends to issue another bond to finance the current debt is grossly worrying, particularly given the limited transparency with which such funds are then spent.

The UPND leader states that any government that meets its expenditure by excessively relying on borrowing is guilty of economic mismanagement, and that the PF is no exception.

Mr Hichilema warns that the high fiscal deficit, coupled with the PF’s continued insatiable appetite for borrowing, will soon make public debt unsustainable.

He says the UPND in power will put in place a robust long-term debt management strategy that will ensure that new borrowings follow legal and fiscal responsibility guidelines, as opposed to the current haphazard borrowing.

He states that the UPND will grow the economy by addressing the bottlenecks faced by the private sector which accounts for over 90 percent of employment and is the only way to create the amount of new jobs Zambia needs.

Mr Hichilema adds that the UPND will prioritise domestic resource mobilisation by increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of the Zambia Revenue Authority and other revenue collection agencies, as well as curbing the high capital flight, tax evasion and tax avoidance.

He further states that the UPND will use existing information and commission further research to estimate the cost of depreciation of existing capital stock to come up with optimal budget allocations in order to prioritise Operations and Maintenance of existing high-return infrastructure projects.

Mr Hichilema says his party in government will mitigate political expedience and corruption in infrastructure projects by, among other measures, reverting the Road Development Agency to the Ministry of Transport, Works, Supply and Communications and ensuring transparency and planning of projects in accordance with Government vision.

President To Collapse In Public: Prophet TB Joshua Gives Another Chilling Prophecy

TB-JoshuaCelebrated Nigerian televangelist, Prophet TB Joshua has reportedly prophesied that a President will collapse in public very soon and that people need to pray and fast for that leader

TB Joshua is well known for his eerily accurate prophecies and recently he made the shocking prophecy that an old leader on the continent would die and around the time he had mentioned Malawi’s Bingu waMutharika suddenly succumbed to a heart attack.

TB Joshua is renowned for his accurate prophecies and he claims to have seen the death of pop king Michael Jackson, the resignation of Pakistan’s ex- president Pervez Musharraf anԁ also the rise of the current president of Ghana a few weeks before the events took place among other things.

While predicting the death of President Bing Wa Mutharika, Prophet TB Joshua, during a church service on the 5th February 2012, announced that he was seeing the death of an African president in two months time.

“..I am seeing a Head of State… by that I mean a President. He is not feeling well. He is very old. What is this I am seeing…sudden death…I am seeing the death of an old African president in two months”, TB Joshua said.

He added: “…It could be sickness being in the body for a long time but God showed me the country and the place but I am not here to say anything like that. When it’s too close and there is nothing I can do about it… I will mention it clear…the place, the country and the person so that they can see what they can do to rescue him…” he said.

On Sunday April 1, TB Joshua said his prophecy was drawing closer and closer. “…I was talking about April…we should pray for the nation…this country…God loves us. You should pray for one African Head of State. The sickness that is likely to take life… sudden death.” said the Pastor.

TB Joshua’s prophecy was confirmed on Friday, April 6 2012, a day after Bingu wa Mutharika died of a heart attack. President wa Mutharika died on 5 April 2012, strangely exactly two months after the Nigerian church leader predicted the death of the African president.

My Zimbabwe News was closely following the prophecy from February when it was first announced till the 5th of April when we became one of the first media websites to announce the fulfilment of the prophecy. Since then, Prophet TB Joshua’s prophecy have been taken seriously by many Christians throughout the African continent. The celebrated Nigerian televangelist has however made countless prophecies which have also come to pass.

Macha Chiefdom Bans Crusades

By Chomba Musika

GATHERINGS such as overnight prayers, crusades, and church camp meetings have been banned in Macha chiefdom in Choma as they have been identified among drivers of HIV/AIDS in the area.
Night gatherings, which have been deemed as a platform for HIV-risk behaviour, will only be held under special circumstances with the permission from Chief Macha.
This is according to a policy declaration and leadership commitment on HIV/AIDS for Macha chiefdom which was launched on Friday through Support to the HIV/AIDS Response (SHAReII) in Zambia, a USAID-funded project.
The royal establishment and the community identified drivers of HIV/AIDS in the chiefdom and how to counter them.
“As Macha chiefdom, we recognise that gatherings such as overnight prayers, crusades, church camps and other big gatherings that attract people from different areas eventually lead them to engage in unprotected sex which predisposes them to HIV infections and other STIs.
We, therefore, discourage all forms of night gatherings unless under special circumstances with special permission from his royal highness Chief Macha,” the declaration reads in part.
The chiefdom has also banned “wrong doctrinal teachings” by which prophets encourage HIV patients to only pray for healing at the expense of seeking and taking anti-retroviral therapy (ART), a practice the chiefdom says promotes HIV-drug resistance and subsequently promotes high mortality among those infected with HIV in the chiefdom.
Sexual cleansing rituals have also been banned.
And the chiefdom has also decreed to ensure that any person caught in adultery is encouraged to undergo voluntary counselling and testing (VCT) while those who refuse to undergo VCT will have their adultery penalty increased.

Can We Blame HH For Privatization In Zambia?

Hakainde

Dear Editor,

CAN WE BLAME HH FOR PRIVATIZATION IN ZAMBIA ??
I personally want to respond to this question as an intellectual with a Bachelor of ARTS Degree in Economics from the University of Zambia. In 1964, Zambia obtained its independence and Kaunda was the president of the republic of Zambia. Zambia’s only economic export at that time was copper, we had what is known as mono economy(depending on one product for export as a source of income) the Copper prices at that time were very high and Zambia made enough money to fund all sectors of the economy. In 1973 the price of copper accounted for 95% of all export earnings in Zambia; this halved in value on the world market in 1975. ( This means the copper prices fell on the international market) Such that by 1976 Zambia had a balance-of-payments crisis. What do i mean by this (it means, we would export more copper, and make little money out of copper for financing other sectors of the economy like health, education). Take note that by this time, all companies were owned and financed by Zambian Government. All the mines, companies, large civil service, health sector, education sector; wanted the same small money that we get from copper. This led to a situation where we had to borrow as a country in order to meet the other sectors of the country, so Zambia turned to IMF and WORLD Bank in order to ask for assistance. And IMF and WORLD Bank gave us conditions (SAPS) before we borrowed, and among these conditions, they stated that Zambian civil service was too large, companies were not profitable as they were making loses and people employed were not employed on merit but rather patronage basis. IMF and World Bank gave the conditions to Kaunda Government that they would only give Zambia Loans if Zambia reduced the size of civil service and privatized the the unproductive companies. (take note that the civil service is gagain increasing under PF) as Sata created even more districts. By that time, HH was a private consultant trained in evaluation, his job was to evaluate the companies asserts and value before advising the government how much to sell, and the government had the final say, as to sell at that price or increase or reduce. Can we now blame HH for privatization????

South Africa has closed its consulate in Lagos, Nigeria, following anti-xenophobia protests there, Netwerk24 reported on Tuesday.

Protests were held outside the consulate and at the South African High Commission in Abuja.

South African consul general in Nigeria, Sam Monaisa, said in an e-mail to the South African business forum in that country that the closure would remain in force until Thursday.

The situation in Durban had calmed down, but he was concerned about the Nigerians that were being repatriated, he wrote.

Nigerians were using social media to blow an already tense situation in South Africa out of proportion and stoking emotions.

This was why Nigerians maintained that their compatriots were being killed in South Africa daily, he said.

He warned the forum’s members to stay alert and not move around unnecessarily.

Cervical cancer symptoms are often misinterpreted as PMS or Ovulation pains. The biggest difficulty in cervical cancer is that it hardly shows any symptoms, not until it reaches a advanced stage, though it differs from woman to woman.

Abnormal bleeding

Women who are suffering from cervical cancer experience abnormal vaginal bleeding. This is heavy to light during the month.

Heavy white discharge

Another symptom of cervical cancer is increased vaginal discharge. This again differs from women to women, it may smell bad, would be thick or contain mucus. Every time you viist your gynecologist inform her about these unusual white discharges.

Pelvic pain

One may not experience pelvic pain during normal menstrual cycle. This cervical cancer symptom may last for hours and can scale to dull pains or sharp aches, mild or very severe.

Pain during urination

Bladder pain or pain during urination can be a symptom of advanced cervical cancer. This cervical cancer symptom usually occurs when cancer has spread to the bladder.

Bleeding between regular menstrual periods, after sex, or pelvic exam

Bleeding after sex or pelvic exam can be cervical cancer symptoms. This is due to the irritation of the cervix during these activities. While a healthy cervix may have a very small amount of bleeding, many conditions may cause bleeding after activities like sex.

Nchanga Member of Parliament Wylber Simmusa says he still has presidential ambitions and might stand in 2016 if the situation allows.

The former minister of Lands, Natural Resources and Environmental Protection who took part in the PF second general conference where he lost to Miles Sampa told Hot FM that if the situation and the party allows he will stand for presidency next year.

“There was a situation that allowed for me to stand last year at the PF general conference and I still have the presidential ambitions and can stand in 2016,” he said.

Mr Simuusa said he decided to take part in the PF general conference in Kabwe last year because people asked him to do so and that he will stand in 2016 if people call for him to do so again.

The Nchanga MP has come under pressure in Nchanga constituency as a result of bad roads in the area. Many people in the area have expressed disappointment with the law maker for neglecting the roads in Chingola.

Last week, Chingola taxi and bus drivers protested by parking their cars over bad roads in the area and demanded that their MP Mr Simuusa and the council look into the matter of roads.

Malawi’s Child Marriages Bill Signed into Law ‘No More Child Marriage Until 18yrs’

Malawi’s President, Peter Mutharika, has signed the Marriage and Family Relations Bill into law after a period of uncertainty since February, when the country’s parliament ratified the Marriage, Divorce and Family Relations Bill. The new legislation raises the minimum age for marriage from 14 to 18, effectively banning child marriages. This development, which follows more than fifteen years of undaunted advocacy, marks a huge step forward in the fight to end the insidious practice in the country.
Over the past few years, Hivos in Southern Africa has been advocating for a legislative framework to stem the problem of child marriages in Malawi. Hivos has supported numerous community and national initiatives and created spaces and platforms to raise awareness about the negative effects of child marriages. These took the form of radio and community dialogues, national and regional symposiums and lobbying parliamentarians.
Since the Bill was passed early this year, Hivos in collaboration with like-minded organisations has been working with the media for presidential assent to the bill.
“The enactment of the bill into law is a step in the right direction towards ending child marriages. Inasmuch as we have the Act now, we still need to work on amending the constitution to ensure alignment,” said Cynthia Ngwalo, Hivos Southern Africa’s Child Marriages Programme Coordinator.
