Dear Editor,
Taking a case to Longacres Police is sheer waste of time and energy. Kabwata is much better.
Honestly, How can they (police officers) accept tondolo (bride) and let the Brutal Chinese go free minus charges? Is it because of Poverty that the youngman accept to be silenced? How can they promote such corrupt acts? The place needs cleansing indeed! The IG need to clean that place and many others.
Why do they agree with such brutal acts? Are we to take law into our hands? What are they afraid of? Is it because they like other don’t have enough or they are paid less?
I am one of the victims of that place! I was charged and I refused to pay when the person who hit into my car was wrong. I was charged and I strongly refused to pay for I know I was right. I was even stopped by someone who has no idea of SADC Licences. Why was to pay when I was not on the wrong? Why was I to pay just because the person who hit in my car was driving a Govt minibus under the reign of MMD regime? I was strongly warned and interrogated by the Officer whose name and ID I hold for the sake of his job to pay otherwise I was going to go to Court and be arrested. Its now almost three years. I am still waiting for the arresting Officer to Arrest me and take me to court.
Some officers need to be aware that they can be sued outside the protection of Zambia Police! Law is Law! Cases don’t just die like that till the wrong is brought to book. I will pursue the case till that Officer taste the Law. Boma ni Boma mentality is long gone! We need to live in solidarity and not fear each other. We don’t want to live in a situation that will promote “seeing ZP Uniform as something to destroy.” We don’t want to see the ZP to see “Blue Buses as means of fattening their pockets.” Twanaka Please.
Some Officers are Longacres are too too comfortable and need to be moved. They need to be posted to rural areas. I plead with Police IG to clean places like Longacres! Its very corrupt. I have data of some of their corrupt acts. Cleansing need to be done.
Gratitude to those officers who carry out the duty with Pride and not in corrupt acts. Bravo Men/Women in Uniform who protect us.
