President Edgar Lungu says he doesn’t want his hands to be tainted by blood,
political victims, people who want prominence.Asked to comment on remarks
by Dr Guy Scott in the Saturday Post that the bond between Rupiah Banda and him was a
MacGyver bandage that came along with other undertakings and offers, President Lungu said he did not want to be involved in simple politics.“Ah, no! No! Don’t involve me in those simple politics, please,”
President Lungu told journalists at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport last evening before depar-ture for Malawi.
“Forget naiwe ifyo ifya ba Guy Scott. Elyashi elyoline (is that the only issue of discussion?) I don’t want my hands to be stained with people’s blood; political victims, people who want prominence. I don’t want that. I am too busy working.” On his trip to Malawi, President Lungu said he had been invited to celebrate that country’s 51st independence anniversary.
“I think it’s all about Pan Africanism more than anything else. We need to show solidarity
with our friends and learn best practices,” President Lungu said.“It’s about democracy; in fact, we want to have same values and good governance and so forth. Those are important.”
President Lungu said Zambia could only get the best if the country interacted with others.
“You tell them this is what we are doing in Zambia and they will tell us how they are doing it in
Malawi,” said President Lungu, who was accompanied by first lady Esther.

Present at the event were Foreign Affairs Minister Harry Kalaba, Tourism and Arts Minister Jean Kapata, Eastern Province Minister Malozo Sichone and Zambia’s High Commissioner to Malawi Salome Mwananshiku.

Zim Hotels Secretly Record Unsuspecting Clients, Sell X-Rated Videos To Nigerian Businessmen
The former employee said the exercise which is predominantly done in Harare is slowly finding its way to most Bulawayo lodges and cheap hotels.
According to the source, the lodge owners are working with Nigerian men who pay a huge amount for the video recordings.
“The idea is being engineered by Nigerian business people who install the equipment in the rooms and capture unsuspecting clients in the act,” said the man.
The source further explained that in some cases the owners of the lodges are not aware of the existence of the cameras as the Nigerians work with unscrupulous managers and staff at the lodges.
It is claimed that the Nigerians pay up to as much as US$1000 for a week’s recording.
Most of the cheap city lodges are offering rest rooms for $5 per hour during the day and about $15 for a night and these are the ones targeted by the Nigerians as most clients using the lodges will be in the company of sex workers.
The man also claims that some sex workers are part of the arrangement and deliberately engage in what he described as “classic moves” in the act for the best pictures.
The source warned that people should be worry of lodges that always keep their lights on or use light curtains as this is done to enhance lighting in the room for the hidden cameras.
“Most cases the rooms involved always have the light on and the switch deliberately made out of order,” he said.
In order to avoid the filming, the man advised clients using lodges to check the room for hidden cameras by closing the curtains in the room and switching off the light then switching on their cell phone camera without the flush, move it around the room, if a little red light is spotted on the phone then a camera is hidden in the room.
The source also advised clients to refuse to use rooms with malfunctioning light switches or with exceptionally enhanced lighting.
He also warned men who are serviced by ladies who will insist on changing positions and moves in the room as they will be deliberately positioning for the best picture in front of the cameras.

There Is No Political Alliance Between PF & MMD- Mumba
The opposition Movement for Multi Party Democracy (MMD) President Nevers Mumba says it is disturbing for some people to insist that there is a political alliance between the PF and the MMD.
Dr. Mumba says he does not know how many time he will say that the two political parties have never sat to discuss for a possible political alliance.
Dr. Mumba maintains that it should be noted that former Republican President Rupiah Banda does not represent the MMD and if he is working with the PF then that is his interest and not the interest of the former ruling party.
And Dr. Mumba has admonished his critics asking him to go back to the pulpit saying that is like telling him to go back to primary education.
He states that he has been in politics for eighteen years and he cannot stop political affairs and those championing calls for him to go back to the pulpit do not mean well.
Dr. Mumba says life is a process and God prepared him through the church work to have a passion and the love for his people.
The MMD Leader has since emphasized that people should stop spreading reports that the MMD has entered into a political alliance with the ruling party saying there is no alliance between the two political giants.
Kambwili Advises Kabimba On Corruption
Chief Government spokesperson Chishimba Kambwili says Rainbow general secretary Wynter Kabimba must stop issuing unsubstantiated statements insinuating that there is corruption in Government.
Mr Kambwili said this in an interview in reaction to a story published in yesterday’s Post newspaper headlined `Corruption is theft, murder’.
“I totally agree with Mr Kabimba that corruption is theft and murder, but he must be the last person to talk about corruption because he has [allegedly] amassed so much wealth in an unexplained manner. He is also running an ostrich farm,” he said.
Mr Kambwili, who is Minister of Information and Broadcasting Services, said it is true that those engaged in corrupt activities will have a bad ending, and that they will not survive in politics.
However, Mr Kambwili said Mr Kabimba is an elitist person who has no connection with the grassroots and cannot therefore talk about issues of corruption.
“Mr Kabimba must not talk about corruption. He is not a grassroots person and has no relationship with poor people. How did he manage to fund the Rainbow congress, buying materials for everyone?” he wondered.
He said only recently Mr Kabimba was the most powerful person in the PF, who could organise anything within minutes, and cannot therefore turn around and accuse the PF of being corrupt.
Robbers Caught On Camera
Two Chinese and eight Zambians are on the run after a foiled attempt to rob Wonderful Ceiling factory in the light industrial area in Lusaka yesterday.
Lusaka Province police commissioner Charity Katanga said the Chinese, in the company of unknown Zambians, were captured on surveillance cameras (closed-circuit television – CCTV) at about 00:01 hours.
Ms Katanga said the suspects damaged part of the CCTV worth about K30,000 before attempting to rob the factory.
Police, who are investigating the attempted robbery, have since opened a docket for malicious damage to property.
Kitwe Woman Raped By HIV Positive Pastor
A 22-YEAR-OLD woman of Kitwe has told the Kitwe Magistrate’s Court that a pastor of Revival for All Nations Church allegedly raped her at his house when she went there for prayers.
The woman submitted into evidence torn underwear and a pair of cycling shorts that the pastor allegedly tore before raping her.
Before senior magistrate Daniel Musonda was James Thewo of house number 31 Congo Way in Kitwe’s Riverside township, who is charged with one count of rape.
It is alleged that Thewo on June 1, 2015 in Kitwe, had carnal knowledge of the woman without her consent.
When the matter came up for trial on Friday, the woman told the court that on that day, she went to attend prayers that Thewo was conducting.
After the end of the prayer session, Thewo grabbed her cellphone, saved his number and asked her to call him because he had a vision about her from God.
“The following day around 05:00 hours, pastor Thewo called me that he had another vision about me and that I should go to his house where he was going to be praying for other people at 15:00 hours.
“I went to the pastor’s house but I did not find anyone there apart from him. I waited for other members but they never came. The pastor then locked the door and twisted my arm, tore my underwear and cycling shorts and had sex with me,” she said.
The woman testified that after allegedly raping her, Thewo reached for a knife and some tablets of a brand of paracetamol called Cafemol.
The woman said Thewo allegedly threatened to kill her if she resisted taking the Cafemol.
“I told my sister about what happened and we went to the police station where we were given a medical report. After some days, I went with the accused to the hospital for voluntary counselling and testing (VCT) where it was discovered that he is HIV-positive and I tested negative,” the woman said.
In cross-examination, the woman said it was her second time to meet Thewo and she never had a relationship with him.
Mr Musonda adjourned the case to July 15, 2015, for continued trial.

TB Joshua Returns Tithe AGAIN!
After the widely publicised story of Nigerian Pastor TB Joshua returning an elderly woman’s tithe, another video has surfaced showing the cleric’s unique action was not an isolated one.
“On 5th June, my wife died,” Ezekiel Ayodeji from Ondo State, Nigeria, lamented, three young children standing beside him.
He was shoddily dressed, clearly malnourished and physically challenged – one of his legs being almost half the size of the other.
“One week later to that time, the shop where I was selling electrical parts burnt down completely in a fire,” he painfully continued, the congregation at The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) listening solemnly.
“When this problem arose, my landlord gave me a quit notice. They then sent my children out of the school. I am suffering; I don’t have food.”
Pastor T.B. Joshua paused sombrely before addressing the church. “These are the people that make your money useless… Money becomes a curse when we are not spending it on the needy.”
He then announced he would give Ezekiel N300,000 coupled with six bags of rice and the promise of scholarships for his three children.
The clip posted by Emmanuel TV’s YouTube channel fast-forwards one week to show the same man sharing his ‘testimony’.
“After the man of God gave me the money, the first thing I did was to go to my church in Akure and paid tithe to my pastor – N30,000,” he recounted.
“I then paid off my debts. With the remaining money, I bought a plot of land worth N150,000. I am here to thank God!”
Joshua then released a bombshell. “Well, I disagree with the pastor that collected N30,000,” he said, much to the surprise of the crowd.
“I am going to return that money back to you because there are many areas you can render your service to the ministry but financially, you are not strong.”
The cleric went on to explain, “He will still pay tithes but not now – he should invest the money and start something. When he starts something, he can begin to pay tithe.”
Joshua instructed that N30,000 be returned to Ezekiel, further advising him to backtrack on his decision to purchase land, stating the time had not come for such measures.
The clip ended with Joshua presenting a brand new car to Ayodeji, purchased by an Emmanuel TV partner and specifically adjusted to enable him to drive despite his physical disability.
“I never expected this at all,” Ezekiel shouted. “I thank God – I am now the owner of a car!”

President Lungu Castigates Those Inciting The People Of Southern Province To Secede From Zambia Over Chama’s Remarks
PRESIDENT Lungu has castigated individuals inciting the people of Southern Province to secede from Zambia because of remarks allegedly attributed to Patriotic Front (PF) secretary general Davies Chama.
President Lungu said some people in Southern Province are advocating secession from Zambia because of an unpalatable statement allegedly made by Mr Chama.
Speaking on arrival at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport from Malawi yesterday, President Lungu said it is ridiculous and unacceptable to talk of secession because the people of Southern Province can sit down and dialogue with Mr Chama, the PF, and him (President Lungu) as President to find out what he is thinking.
“Fifty-one years down the line we are saying let’s build on what our forefathers left. Unity, development and economic emancipation of our people so you can only succeed to bring us together. If I offend you by calling you a name, you can’t say that you want to secede because I called you a name,” President Lungu said.
President Lungu wondered why some people of Southern Province held a meeting at a traditional ceremony and called for secession because Mr Chama has not retracted his statement.
“Traditional ceremonies are about uniting people. Lwiindi ceremony is about uniting, Ncwala ceremony is about uniting, the Umutomboko ceremony is about uniting people. All the traditional ceremonies are about uniting people.
“So those who met yesterday [Monday] and said that they will secede from Zambia, where will they secede to? There is no room for secession.
“If the chiefs are aggrieved by Mr Chama’s remarks, let them see me so that we can discuss,” President Lungu said.
He warned that without unity, there will be no advancement of national development in any way.
“As we celebrate Heroes Day, we should know that you cannot be heroes when there is no unity.
“The way we are doing politics in Zambia suggests that we are on the verge of disintegration unless we look to the past to see how people forged ahead as one,” he said.
President Lungu said the `One Zambia One Nation’ motto means that one could be in the opposition or ruling party but look into the future as one.
He said, however, that some people think that they can assume office by dividing the nation.
President Lungu said Zambians will reject those who want to be Presidents at all cost and they will remain as “zeros instead of heroes”.
“We know that it is clear that some people really want power by all means. It is only the united Zambia, which can put one in State House,” he said.
President Lungu said a divided Zambia will not succeed and that leaders should endeavor to play down things like tribalism even if they want to be republican President.
He also said that people who want to rule and preside over others should be prepared to listen to the majority of the people.
Copperbelt University Closed
The Copperbelt University (CBU) has been closed indefinitely with immediate effect.
This follows the disruption of academic activities at the institution after lecturers downed tools and vowed not to resume work until the vice chancellor Professor Naison Ngoma and his management team step down.
The students have since been urged to leave campus starting at 13:00 hours.
Education Minister, Dr. Michael Kaingu said this at a news conference in Lusaka, today.

Demon Possessed People Are Spreading False Rumours About Pf-Mmd Alliance-Chanda
CHIRUNDU MMD District secretary Mr. Gift Chanda said, demon possessed people in this country are spreading false rumours about PF –MMD Alliance.
Speaking to party officials’ chanda on Sunday, said, as we draw near 2016 general elections, we are going to see a lot of people coming here in crocodile smile, they will come and cheat you that, PF has entered an alliance with MMD.Dont listen to them, these are hooves in sheep skins.
And chanda said, the spirit of deception is slowly controlling this country and its shameful that even Christians today believe in lies. Our enemies wants to use the demon machinery used during the 2015 presidential by elections, where our MP and other party officials went round the country spreading false rumors that, MMD has entered an alliance with UPND.
Chanda said the church is the biggest opposition we have in this country let men and women of God speak for the voiceless and it is demonic to say a Christian should not participate in the running of the country’s affairs. The bible says, when the righteous rule people rejoice. Moses, David, Josua and other Kings who ruled Israel were all men of God. Chanda has encouraged MMD members to continue supporting man of God Pastor Nevers Mumba, The NEW MMD under Nevers Mumba has now become a party of believers and new born again members who believe in the principals and ideologies of our party. So when people are say bad things about our party president, just ignore them let’s be like biblical pilato who said, I didn’t find anything wrong with man. Jesus.MMD has a bigger history and our Party president has a bigger leadership history as compared to these other political party leaders. President Nevers Mumba still remains the chief corner stone of this country. Just like biblical Joseph who was rejected by his brothers but was the only prisoners who managed to interpret the Kings dream and its only Nevers Mumba who has the Gift of interpreting the dream of every Zambian.
British Lodge Owner Murdered In Chipata
A 51-YEAR-OLD Briton has been murdered allegedly by his Zambian acquaintance in his house in Chipata’s Hill View after a drinking spree, Eastern Province commissioner of police Eugene Sibote has said.
Mr Sibote told journalists yesterday that Dean Lodge director Mitchell Dean was murdered between July 5 and July 6 by the suspect who uses different names.
Mr Dean’s house is located at his lodge in Chipata. Mr Sibote said Mr Dean was last seen entering his house around 21:00 hours with his Zambian acquaintance after having some drinks at a bar. “The deceased had been staying with a colleague for the past two months.
The suspect goes by the name of Humphrey and sometimes he is called Tonga Zulu,” Mr Sibote said. He said a security guard at the house found Mr Dean in a pool of blood. The security guard, whose identity has been withheld, told police that on the fateful day, someone was playing music loudly in Mr Dean’s house but that it suddenly stopped.
He said the security guard later saw the suspect driving out in a green Toyota Carina. Mr Dean was later found in a pool of blood and the body had a deep cut on the ear.
He also said some property was missing from the house. Mr Sibote said the body is lying in Chipata General Hospital mortuary.
Police have launched a manhunt for the suspect
4 Reasons Why You Shouldn’t Eat Bread
Whether its sandwiches or subs, a lot of us love eating bread and do so, on a daily basis. But it isn’t exactly the most healthy foods that there are. Here’s why you should stay away from bread!
It doesn’t have many nutrients:
Unlike other food items, bread, especially white bread and items made from it lack nutrients. You’re not getting any fiber, you’re not getting the wholesomeness of grains — you’re basically getting nothing important out of it. While bread made of wheat is a little better, if you’re looking for nutrients, bread made out of whole grains are what you must opt for.
It contains too much salt:
Most bread varieties, especially the processe3d kind that you buy from the supermarket, contain lots of salt. So if you eat lesser bread, the amount of sodium in your body is significantly reduced. Of course, one slice of bread, every now and then won’t do any damage. In fact, you can bake your own bread at home, without adding too much salt.
It makes you gain weight
If you eat too much of bread, because of all carbs, salt, refined sugar and preservatives that it contains, it can make you put on pounds! Eating it in moderation is fine; especially when you take the time to make sure it’s as healthy as possible.
It’s not a wholesome, filling meal
Since certain kinds of bread lack nutrients, when you eat them, you might not feel satiated, because it’s not filling!

Manda Believed He Was Born to Lead
KELVIN KACHINGWE, Lusaka
YOU just have to look at the faces that attended his funeral to know that he was no ordinary man. Yes, he was one of the most eminent urologists in the country, but there was more to him than just being a medical practitioner.
Well, he also knew that.
He believed that he was born to lead at a higher level.
“I come from the royal family. And I think it is one of the things which, is sort of, inborn in me – to be a leader,” he told Lusaka literary journalist Sam Kaseba in an interview in 1998.
“I want to enter politics at a very high level, because I feel that the grassroots are well-organised. It is at a higher level that politics in Zambia is not organised.”
An East Germany-trained urologist, Dr Manda’s role models happened to be Dr Martin Luther King Jr and President John F. Kennedy of the United States of America.
With his roots being in Mwanya area in Lumezi, Eastern Province, he hailed from the Mwase Royal family where he could probably have been entitled to a leadership role. But being a matrilineal society, it is his cousins who reigned. And although his mother is from the courts of Chief Kambwili, even there, he could still not get a leadership opportunity.
He was eying his chances in 2001.
Briefly, he was chairman of health in the then newly formed United Party for National Development (UPND). However, he had also formed a political party called Men Women and Youth Alliance (MWANYA).
Dr Manda believed that seriousness was lacking at the higher level of Zambian politics, and it is there that he intended to put things right – as a man who was born to lead at a higher level.
“We have unfortunately, most of the old generation which is not in touch and in tune with the modern way of running politics,” he said. “We want to do things differently.”
Dr Manda stood aloof from his peers of the older generation because he believed modern politics should not be about heckling and shouting the loudest but management of the citizens and country’s resources.
With that, Mr Kaseba asked him at what level he thought he could manage national affairs differently.
“After much evasion and justification, he coolly concedes, ‘I can do more at presidency level’. In addressing the ‘lack of seriousness at higher levels, he has consulted among others, friends and relatives and colleagues who have pledged their support,” Mr Kaseba wrote.
Dr Manda, who was born on January 28, 1946, was the third child of Miya and Amon Manda of Mufulira. He attended primary education at Lumumba Catholic School and briefly at Chasa Catholic School before moving to Libala Secondary School in Lusaka, where he was a chief prefect.
Later, he studied and worked for 14 years in East Germany where he was also an African Students Union leader. But before leaving for Germany, he briefly worked at the Zambia Broadcasting Services (ZBS) as an announcer.
Like Dr Manda, Dr Manasseh Phiri also had a background in broadcasting.
Following Dr Manda’s death, Dr Phiri paid his own tributes: “Dr Manda was a leader of our people…that is what he taught us. He taught us that this [medical] profession is about leadership. It is not just for saving their lives but serving the community.
“He had that kind of influence that we need to have. His achievements were not just in the operating theatre, but also in being human and available to people,” Dr Phiri said during a professional service held for Dr Manda at the University Teaching Hospital (UTH).
A controversial figure sometimes because of his stance on many issues, his contribution to society cannot be overlooked.
As the country’s first urologist, Dr Manda, who died last Friday and was buried on Sunday, is credited with the setting up of the urology department at UTH.
According to the American Urological Association (AUA), urology is a surgical specialty which deals with diseases of the male and female urinary tract and the male reproductive organs.
Although urology is classified as a surgical specialty, knowledge of internal medicine, paediatrics, gynecology and other specialties is required by the urologist because of the wide variety of clinical problems encountered.
Minister of Health Joseph Kasonde has praised Dr Manda for his efforts.
“Dr Manda was not scared to criticise my ministry. He was bold and wanted the best for his country,” Dr Kasonde said during the professional service.
That he wanted the best for his country is not in doubt, the reason why even on the Manzi Therapy programme on the Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation Radio Four, where he was discussing sexual and reproductive health, Dr Manda was always commenting on other social and political issues.
Zambia Sugar Building Nursing School
ZAMBIA Sugar Plc has injected K1.1 million into the construction of a nursing school at Rusangu University in Monze as part of its corporate social responsibility.
Zambia Sugar head of corporate affairs Japhet Banda said in an interview at the 51st Zambia International Trade Fair (ZITF), which closed on Tuesday, that the construction of a nursing school at the Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church-owned university has started.
Mr Banda said Zambia Sugar’s financial injection into Rusangu University’s nursing school demonstrates the company’s commitment to supplementing Government’s efforts in the construction of modern education facilities.
“We believe our investment in the nursing school project will benefit a lot of young people who want to join the health sector as nurses,” Mr Banda said.
He said the construction of the nursing school is expected to be completed before the end of the year.
He also said Zambia Sugar Plc has pumped K506,000 in the construction of a classroom block at Kaonga Secondary School in Mazabuka and spent K120, 000 on the electrification of Kabanje Primary School in the same area.
I Will Remain At Sundowns, Says Mweene
NATIONAL team goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene is certain about his future at South African side Mamelodi Sundowns and has paid allegiance to the club despite having less game time.
Mweene, who is in Nelspruit with Sundowns for pre-season training camp, said in an interview yesterday that his lack of game time at club level will not affect his performance when called for national duties.
“If I want to leave the club, I know the right channels to follow. I am still with Sundowns and I still have a season left on my contract. Reports that I want to leave because I am not being used are just rumours,” he said.
Mweene said his position is complex and the fact that he is not a regular does not mean his performance has nose-dived.
Ugandan Denis Onyango is Sundowns first-choice goalkeeper.
Mweene pledged to support the Ugandan goalkeeper, saying he is the club’s best at the moment.
“If someone is doing well, I have no problem. He is the first-choice goalkeeper for Uganda and so I am for Zambia. I am competing with the best and I am not the first one to sit on the bench despite being national team first choice,” he said.
Mweene, who missed a penalty in Zambia’s 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Guinea Bissau last month, said he understands how Zambians feel about his lack of game time at club level.
“I missed that penalty not because I lacked game fitness, it wasn’t just our day. My position is complex and sensitive. It is not like the infield players who need more endurance. It is about training and keeping the momentum. We do more work in training than in actual games and I believe I still have the vigour,” he said.
Mweene’s missed penalty saw Zambia settle for a goalless draw with Guinea Bissau. while the other Group E match between Congo Brazzaville and Kenya ended 1-1.
Tonga Secessionists Warned, Dont Take Us For Granted
GOVERNMENT has warned of stern action against advocates of secession of Southern Province if they continue with their divisive schemes.
Chief government spokesperson Chishimba Kambwili said schemes by those advocating secession of Southern Province are treasonable.
Mr Kambwili, who is Minister of Information and Broadcasting Services, said this at a press briefing at his residence in Lusaka yesterday.
“Zambia is a united and indivisible country and will remain so and any talk of secession borders on treason as per law established,” Mr Kambwili said.
He said the preamble of the republican constitution also resolves to uphold the values of democracy, transparency, accountability and good governance.
“The republican constitution also resolves that Zambia shall forever remain a unitary, indivisible, multi-party and democratic sovereign state,” said Mr Kambwili.
The minister also said that the constitution states that: “We, the people of Zambia by our representatives, assembled in our Parliament, having solemnly resolved to maintain Zambia as a sovereign democratic republic.”
Mr Kambwili said Government is, therefore, disappointed that a small clique purporting to represent the wider majority of people of Southern Province want to ride on one individual’s comments to justify why they should secede from the unitary state of Zambia.
He said Government will not tolerate acts that are a serious breach of national security and the constitution of the land.
Mr Kambwili also warned that the culprits are committing a felony under Zambian laws.
“The penal code is very clear that a person is guilty of treason and shall be liable to suffer death for preparing or endeavours to procure by force the setting up of an independent state in any part of Zambia or the secession of any part of Zambia from the republic,” he said.
Mr Kambwili said Government has, therefore, warned that those who attended the meeting in Southern Province will be answerable for their actions.
He said the mere fact that Government has tolerated similar dissent in other parts of the country does not amount to weakness on the part of the State.
“Government will apply the full force of the law to crush any subversive elements in any part of the country,” he said.
He said Government believes the people of Southern Province as a whole have never been obsessed with power to the extent that they would envision separation from the rest of Zambia.
He, however, said the orchestrators of these schemes are a frustrated lot that want to form their government using unconventional and unconstitutional means after failed attempts to win elections.
Mr Kambwili called on all well-meaning Zambians to dismiss the secession talk with the contempt it deserves.
He said Government under President Lungu’s leadership reaffirms its commitment to building an inclusive, united and prosperous Zambia for all.
