Lusambo: Lusaka Seismic Tremor Is a Sign Of Approval Of Lungu’s 3rd Term

Controversial Copperbelt Provincial Minister Bowman Lusambo has suggested in a comical manner that today’s tremors that were felt in most parts of Lusaka, are in fact a signal that Republican President Mr Edgar Chagwa Lungu has to go for a 3rd term of office in 2021.

Lusambo was speaking to a bunch of PF supporters in Lusaka today.

Edgar Lungu is vying for a third run in office even when the constitution only allows two runs for the Presidency. Lusambo further explained that the term which Lungu took over from the late Micheal Sata was not a run but a ‘walk’ and therefore Lungu qualified for another go for the Presidency.

The Pronvincial Minister said the sign of the tremor is timely and a confirmation to Lungu’s desire.

UNZA public relations manager Damaseke Chibale has stated the new sessional dates in a press release issued this afternoon without stating the reasons for the change.

Second and third year students selected to go to schools at Ridgeway Campus will report on Monday, 13th November 2017. 3. Distance students will report on Thursday, 16th November 2017. 4. stated Chibale.
“Additionally, the university management would like to notify all students that online registration will be open on Monday, 27th November, 2017 and close on Wednesday, 31st January, 2018.”
However, University of Zambia Students Union academic affairs secretary Cornelius Daka says the deferment is a result of the Loans and Scholarships Board’s failure to finalise the process of selection of first years for government sponsorship.

A Zambian woman brutally battered by her husband for asking him about his mistress has vowed not to report him to the police. Close sources say although  she was nursing serious wounds at the clinic, she has refused to sue her husband saying they well settle their matter at their home.

Can this woman be said to be a ‘taught’ woman or she is just been abused by her husband?

Recently  gender based violence and killings have increased in Zambia with the latest victim been 26-year-old  Precious Mangisani who was killed by her partner  Shinka Kapita in Ibex Meanwood.

Amid criticism of human rights abuse and breakdown of rule of law, President Edgar  Lungu has bragged that the Patriotic Front(PF) is the most democratic party in the country.

President Lungu said while other political parties do not practice intra-party democracy, the PF leads by example.

He said some political parties have never held internal elections  since there inception.

According to the President, PF tops the graph in as far as practicing internal democracy is concerned.

“PF has demonstrated that it is the most democratic party in the country. When did FDD, UPND or UNIP go for a convention?” President Lungu asked

I Sacrificed My All for PF, Complains Miles

MILES Sampa says he sacrificed all he worked for and his career for the Patriotic Front. And Sampa has asked his fellow PF members to stop insulting him for rejoining the ruling party.

Prior to the 2016 general election, Sampa the former commerce deputy minister, ditched President Edgar Lungu’s campaign team and supported the opposition UPND candidate Hakainde Hichilema.

But immediately after President Lungu won the election, Sampa rejoined the Patriotic Front (PF), but was heavily resented by most members, including party secretary general Davies Mwila.

The PF members have continued to harangue Sampa for going back to the ruling party.

But in an audio posting on WhatsApp yesterday, Sampa, in apparent reaction to some PF cadres who were unhappy with his return, said former president Rupiah Banda instigated his dismissal from Finance Bank where he served as a director because of his links with the PF.

“Munjebeleko chikashana ulya ulelanda language yaba MMD ati yamunyokola njala. Mumwebe ati eeh, ine mu 2010 ine nalebomba ku bank as a director, nalefola $10,000 pa month. Rupiah Banda ewaishile mfumya inchito ati iwe twamona ulelanda landa sana na Sata. Ulechita organize PF so twakufumye inchito mu bank. Nishi nachita? Awe iyi bank iyi, bad lending, but ine nshibomba mu lending department, ine mbomba mu forex department, mu treasury, mu operations. So ifya lending nshabamo eko bapanga ama decisions ba lending. So mwalamfumya shani inchito? Bonse naba Bank of Zambia governor ba Caleb Fundanga at the time nabo ati awe bonse fye naiwe wine fuma. But banjeba kumbali ati, phone yobe ilanga sana ati ulanda naba Sata. Balimona ati account ya Sata iwe watuma. Nomba nishi Sata aliiba, ati awe, tatulefwaya ati Sata alechita banking. So ine nemwine nshilaingila muma politics, nali professional, nalebomba ku bank. Nalibombele ku Barclays, nalibombele ku Finance Bank. Nalefola $10,000 (Please tell that lady using the MD language that I have been struck by hunger. Tell her that in 2010, I was working at the bank as director, I used to get $10,000 per month. It’s Rupiah Banda who got me fired saying I used to talk to Michael Sata a lot. They said I was organizing the PF so I was fired. I asked what I had done, but I was told the bank was involved in bad lending. But I asked how they fired me when I was not working from the lending department but treasury…I knew nothing about lending and the decisions they were making…even the Bank of Zambia governor then Caleb Fundanga said ‘even you, you have to go’ but told me secretly that my phone records showed that I was constantly in touch with Mr Sata. He said even Mr Sata’s account, I used to send money there. Now did Sata steal? They said no, we don’t want him to be banking. So before I got into politics, I was a professional, I worked at the bank. I worked for Barclays, Finance Bank where I used to get $10,000),” Sampa said.

“Bamfumye inchito ba MMD, Rupiah Banda ewamfumishe inchito. Na Dickson Jere nalimutumine, iwe Dickson, mulemfumya shani inchito ine. Ifi fi lending mulelanda nshipelako lending mu bank, ine naba ku treasury…so mulemfumya shani. Aisa tuma Dickson ebele ‘ahh, nakamba nabo, yashupa nkhani’. Yashupa nkhani? The chairman of that bank at that time was Jacob Mwanza, I even called imwe, me I don’t know anything, ndandileniko kuli ba Bank of Zambia governor. Nabo babwesha ‘ahh, yashupa nkhani iyi. Naiwe wamene tikuchosa’. Efyo bamfumishe inchito. Nabutuka kuli Sata nati yama, mwamfumishe inchito, moneni. Alesekafye mudala ati ‘ahh, this is politics, relax…’ That’s how I found myself deep down in politics. Efyo naiminine ku Matero because in my profession, I was labeled and it was on stand still. And today, a fellow PF member, eo twalechula nankwe anjebe language yakwa Rupiah Banda ati njala yamunyokola. Thank you very much to PF. If it has, my career and all my savings and everything were sacrificed umu mwine mu PF (It’s the MMD that got me out of employment, Rupiah Banda got me fired. Even Dickson Jere I phoned him, I asked ‘Dickson, why are you getting me fired? This lending issue you are talking about, I have never learnt out money in this bank, I am in treasury department. So how are you getting me fired?’ He phoned back and said ‘ahh, I have talked to them, but this issue is tough’. But how? [I phoned the chairman at the time and [asked him] to speak to Bank of Zambia governor….[the chairman] also responded that the issue was tough. I went to Mr Sata and complained that he had me fired, he just laughed and said…that’s how I stood in Matero…)”

And in another audio posting on a PF WhatsApp group, Sampa complained bitterly about the insults he was receiving even from people he had helped before.

“Takwaba bululu, takwaba! Walifuminepo pa mushi waya, waye ciyeyeye, wabwela, takwaba no kuposha kwambafye ukutukwa? Aa! Finshi wacita? Ee! Olo nabwela ni position nabula iyakwa nani? Nga nshaishile still ama problems mulelilana nayo ngayaliba solved? (This is really strange. You leave a village, you go and wander somewhere, then you come back but no one greets you; all they do is insult you? What have you done? And who position have I taken up? Suppose I didn’t come back, would you still have solved the problems you are complaining about?)” he asked.

“But you cannot start insulting me. Then it’s not worthy it, it’s not worthy it to be with brothers. Because all of you, abengi apa, Venny uyu mumwipushe Venny na Chipili, mubepushe. Ndamona ama picture apa, baleisa ku office yandi. And even before PF formed government they used to walk in and out of my office as they pleased. And I would meet them on the road, and we would talk. Today they’re insulting me, nacite nshi? Pantu nabwelafye? Ukubwela waba mulandu? Bushe nabwela mukupoka icifulo cakwa nani? (Ask Venny and Chipili, I still look at pictures, they used to come to my office. Today they are insulting me, what have I done? Just because I’ve come back [into the party]? Is rejoining an offence? Whose position have I come to take over?)”

Sampa wondered why people seemed to be blaming him for the problems in PF.

He said the same things PF members were complaining about now were the same issues he raised in 2015.

“Ninebo nalenga ukuti fiba solved? Sometimes limbi apapene mba ndomfwa ifyo mulanda, nda passing’a ama message ku those who are supposed to be making decisions. I pass the message in my own way in the background, I play my role to convey ati balelilanefi, balelilanefi. And I do know that fyonse ifyo mulelilana I can tell you something for nothing, balomfwa. Tebacibulu bonse ama decision makers, balomfwa. (I’m I the reason for these problems? Sometimes I hear what you say and I pass on the message to those responsible for making decisions. I tell them that this is what people are complaining about. And those responsible listen, the decision makers are not all deaf),” said Sampa.

“And I cannot speak for them, I can only imagine that they are working on it. But nomba ine naisa, aa! Fine I did my own nonsense in between, naine nalifulungana (I was confused). Some of those things you are complaining about, efyo nalecita complain (that’s what I complained) [about] in 2015. So imwe mwalilanda ati awe naupena iwe (you said I was mad). Same complaints ifyo muleletapo nomba (you are now bringing the same complaints). So now PF, not ati…first of all muma politics takwaba ati nalicula, naliculilemo because nga nalanda ati naliculile mwalalanda ati ninani uwakwebele? (in politics there’s no such a thing as, ‘I suffered’, because if I say so you will say, ‘ who told you’?) I’m not even interested. Nga fyabu president bane (if it’s about the presidency) I’m not interested, nga fyama position (if it’s about positions) I’m not interested. Me, I’m just happy I’m back with you my sisters and my brothers, capwa (that’s all)! Ifyashala ifyo (anything else) it’s got nothing to do with me. So, nga ndecula ati namutemwa muleseka, nshilecula (so if I’m suffering you are happy that I’m suffering. I’m not suffering). Anyway, Ine before I even joined politics…I was director, nalebomba (I was working). Those who know me they know that even before PF at least nalekwanisha ukushito bunga (I could manage to buy meali-meal). Tafilashupa bane (I’m not in agony). Nanomba mugaiwa ndekwanisho kushita (I still manage to buy roller meal) that’s all that matters to me. Nomba kulatukwa ifintu ifyo tawishibe (Getting insulted over things I don’t know), it’s not fair!”

A 14 year old juvenile has given evidence in the Choma Magistrate Court in a case where 25 Goats all valued at K6, 250 belonging to his family were stolen.

This is a case where Mudenda Moono of Makali Village in Chief Cooma’s Chiefdom has been implicated and accused of stealing the animals in question on the night of 31st August and morning of 1st September, 2017.

The juvenile testified that on 1st September, 2017, he discovered that the kraal had been broken into and that the goats were missing forcing him and his father Joseph Tembo to launch a search by following the foot prints of the animals.

He further said the two split as they discovered that the trail led them to Choma.

He explained that he went into Mwapona Compound where he found Muchana Muchana who is now a convict for the same offence near the butchery with two goats that he recognized as part of the stolen herd.

The juvenile then pretended to be a buyer and Muchana disclosed to having 13 more goats, but after further questioning the accused was apprehended by the boy with the help of members of the public and taken to Choma Police Station.

15 Goats were recovered while 10 are still missing.

Magistrate Richard Chikalanga adjourned the matter to 14 February, 2018 for continuation of trial.

‘Disclose How Much Has Been Donated In Cholera Fight’

PRESS STATEMENT No. 6 ISSUED ON 23RD JANUARY 2018: FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

1. As Patriots for Economic Progress (PeP), we wish to call upon the government to immediately disclose to the public how much money and materials have been donated so far towards the cholera fight and by who, as well as how such money and materials have been applied. This will help to ensure that such money and materials are properly accounted for and that there is little room for pilferage or theft by government officials.

2. As Patriots for Economic Progress (PeP), we have further noted with regret the tendency by some District Commissioners across the country, to solicit for donations from business houses using “Office of the President” headed letters, as such a practice borders on extortion of business houses by government. Those business houses which are willing and able to donate towards the cholera outbreak must be allowed to do so out of their own volition and not being coerced or tacitly intimidated by government. The PF government must immediately cease and desist from operating like a mafia organization. It must always be remembered that the government’s mandate to preside over the affairs of this Republic is drawn from the Republican Constitution. Therefore, government’s conduct at all times is expected to be exemplary. Extorting money and materials from ailing business houses in the name of cholera, falls short of the exemplary conduct that is expected from a supposedly respectable government.

3. We further wish to appeal to the PF government to consider adopting a culture of transparency and accountability when it comes to the utilization of public resources. A reasonable government cannot receive donations of money and materials towards the cholera fight and yet keep mute about disclosing to the public how much has been received and how such money and resources have been applied thus far, and how much is remaining. Our expectation as Patriots for Economic Progress is that whenever the Minister of Health gives updates about the cholera epidemic, he must also update the nation on the donations received thus far. It should not take a petition from an opposition political party like PeP, for the government to disclose the status of donations received so far, towards the cholera fight.

4. As Patriots for Economic Progress, we wish to take this opportunity to warn and caution any government official that might have plans to unduly benefit from the donations received towards the cholera fight, that we shall not allow them to do so. As a Party, we shall do everything and anything within our power to ensure that every Ngwee, every drop of chlorine and every pair of gloves that was donated towards this cholera fight, is properly accounted for by government. Opportunism in the midst of a tragedy shall not be tolerated.

Thank You and May God Bless Us, the Great Citizens of the Republic of Zambia and Our Ailing Nation.

Yours Truly

Musician BFlow Writes Moving Tribute To Kalusha Bwalya ‘Kalusha Bwalya Deserves To Be Celebrated’

Lately, I have been thinking about Kalusha Bwalya. First of all, it is such a joy to see him at new Liberian President George Weah’s inauguration. There are some great lessons to learn about true friendship and destiny. Today a Footballer is governing a nation. It means God can give greatness to any human being, regardless of their background. Secondly, Kalu’s loyalty to his friend teaches us that when we are loyal to our friends, we stand a good chance of being part of a great future. One of Kalusha’s strengths is his spirit of appreciating others. I have seen him appreciate a lot of people (including me) for their efforts in life. Not every successful Zambian possesses this important attribute because many of them want to be hero-worshipped; many want to be appreciated yet they can’t appreciate others. Good leaders are those who allow others to shine. Kalu has kept in touch with his old friends over the years while working hard. Owing to this, I’m not surprised that George Weah did not forget to invite him. When I was a child, my mother used to scold me for making my white t-shirts dirty because whenever Kalu was playing, I would get a piece of charcoal and paint the back of my t-shirt with the number 11. I guess mum never understood that I was trying to tap into the anointing of a hero. That’s how much I have been inspired by Great Kalu. I never even knew that his name was Kalusha. We used to call him “Kalwisha” because of his perseverance on the pitch, so we thought his parents named him Kalwisha Bwalya. When Kalu gets the ball, we would shout “Lwisha, Lwisha, Lwisha”. I pray that Zambia learns to acknowledge and appreciate the greatness that God placed in Kalu’s life. I have been to countries where I meet people who say the only thing they know about Zambia is that it is the country where you find Kalusha Bwalya and Dr Kenneth Kaunda. Let us celebrate this great man!

Habits That Show Improper Upbringing Of Children

$
0
0

Dear Parents,

Please, carefully look at the list below and identify where you may want to make amends on yourself or on the young ones you are bringing up.

Children, if not properly groomed may never get to the top in life, even if both parents are at the top of their careers.
Manners take you to where your education can’t irrespective of your status, wealth or your reach or influence:

1) Going to your child’s school indecently dressed. (Think again).

2) Speaking rashly to your child’s teacher.

3) Cursing, using foul language or swearing words in front of your children.

4) Using makeup on children.

5) Dressing your little children up indecently (they loose their sense of Princesshood).

6) Putting earrings on your son’s ears.

7) Your child hold the cup or glassware by the brim and you don’t correct.

8) Your children don’t greet and you just feel they will come around one day because they have a mood swing. (You will be blamed for it).

9) Your children eat with their mouth opened and you feel they will grow up some day.

10) Your children bringing home something you did not buy for them and you say nothing. (that is the beginning of stealing).

11) The Children talk back at you and you conclude it’s okay since you are a 21st century Mummy. (You will hate yourself if they do that outside and they are disciplined).

12) The Children interrupt when you are speaking with another adult and you think they are bold and clever. (Its really bad manners).

13) The Children exercising authority over the Nanny and domestic staff and you let them be. (that is bad parenting).

14) The Children saying things like “my driver is on his way…” I do not advocate that children should call your domestic staff Aunty or Brother, calling them by Name when they are not young people is not proper either. The use of Miss, Mr or Mrs will look good on them.

15) Your children don’t say a ‘thank you’ when they have been helped or served something and you are cool with that. (Bad parenting).

16) When your Children cannot stand children’s who are less privileged.

18) When the Children pick their noses with their hands.

19) When the Children don’t wash their hands after visiting the washroom or after returning from school or outside visits.

20) When your Children take something from the fridge without taking permission. (Bad parenting).

21) When your Children don’t knock on closed doors and wait for a response before opening the door.

22) When your Children don’t collect from your hands items you brought in as you walk into your home.

23) When your Children request for a bribe to carry out their home chores or extra task. (That is disgraceful).

24) When your Children act like their Grandparents irritate them. (It’s a Transferable Curse).

25) When your Children have not learnt to get up from the Chair for the Elderly or Visitors to sit.

26) When your Children tells lot of Lies. (You will both cry in the future).

27) When your Children ask “who is that?” at a knock on your door instead of “please, may I know who is there.”

28) When your Children is always seated by your Visitors when being served Drinks or Food.

29) When your Children still point their fingers at other people, when talking to or speaking about them.

30) When your Children play and jump around when Prayers are going on. (These can apply to Children from Ages 4 and Above). This is very rude & rotten parenting. Such a parent is a shame to herself. Teach your children at home, it’s very frustrating to have your children make noise while prayers or preachings r going on. May d Lord help us parents to stop being irresponsible.

Don’t be a 21st Century Parent who can’t correct their Children. You leave your children to jump on beds, sofas at your house, & they carry this personality to other people’s houses whom you visit. They open fridges at other people’s houses, jump on sofas, break glasses & you do not even stop your child. Go ahead, destroy them so they will fail their future. Train your Children in the way of the Lord so that when they grow up they will not depart from such Godly Training or Upbringing.

IT IS BETTER TO LET YOUR CHILDREN CRY AT AN EARLY AGE WHEN YOU CORRECT THEM, IF NOT YOU WILL BOTH CRY AT NIGHT WHEN THEY BRING DISGRACE TO THE FAMILY WITH BAD AND TERRIBLE BEHAVIOURS……

Take care

George Weah has begun his presidency with a rousing call to all Liberians – promising to do “more than his share” in advancing the country.
However, he warned he was unable to do it alone.
Speaking at the Samuel Doe Stadium in the capital, Monrovia, he said:
I will do more than my fair share to meet you expectations – but I ask you to meet mine, for I cannot do this alone.”
Mr Weah also used his inaugural speech to praise Liberia’s strong ties with countries like the US and China, stressing their importance in helping reach the country’s full potential.
He also spoke of the European Union, telling the tens of thousands who had gathered to watch him become president today that the continent would “always have a special place in my heart”.
Mr Weah played football at clubs in France and the UK during the late 1980s and 1990s, becoming the first African to win the coveted Fifa World Player of the Year and Ballon d’Or.
Speaking today, he added:
Without Europe, George Weah would not be standing here.”

North Africa Not ideal For Our Players

Dear Editor,
I am particularly impressed with Benedict Tembo’s comment on Zanaco FC regarding their player Augustine Mulenga (Sunday July 21, 2017) while on the other hand, I would say Green Buffaloes acted rather too hastily in selling Brian Mwila, especially that it came towards the CHAN tournament.

I am one person who is very much against our players going to play football in the African Arab league.
For Morocco, ask Tenant Chilumba and Maybin Mgaiwa. We had players who tried their professional football in Egypt; late Fred Mwila Junior, Emmanuel Mayuka, Sate-Sate, while Rainford Kalaba abandoned a contract in Egypt.
The nation has never regretted seeing Nathan Sinkala, Kabaso Chongo and other Zambians playing at TP Mazembe.
I suggest these players are advised to stop going to the North African league.

Statement On President Lungu’s Hardwork

$

January23, 2018

Zambian DNA commends President Edgar Lungu‘s hardworking culture and dedication to national duties.

Indeed, President Lungu has often been on tour of duty to check on the on-going developmental projects around the country.

In the same vein, just recently, President Lungu directed his ministers and other Government officials to ensure that all unfinished projects countrywide are completed as soon as possible.

The Head of State also encourages his ministers, Members of Parliament (MPs), local authorities together with their elected councilors and everyone in position of authority to work hard and be dedicated to duty.

However, some ministers, and local authorities have not performed their duties to the people’s expectation thus a lot of work remains undone.

For example, Local authorities, for a long time until recently, lamentably failed to collect garbage that chocked our cities and towns countrywide with filth that prompted President Lungu to intervene, an initiative which many Zambians appreciate.

We expect ministers and local authorities to emulate President Lungu’s work culture and dedication to duty if the country is to develop with a clean environment that would attract foreign investment.

We believe that a culture of hard work and dedication to duty is bedrock for national development, and ultimate attainment of the Vision 2030 agenda.

Therefore, we urge ministers, local authorities and those in position of authority to pull up their socks so that they can serve the Zambian people diligently.

Mwamba Call Pilato, Amnesty International For A Meeting

Pretoria- Wednesday 24th January 2018

Zambia’s High Commissioner to South Africa His Excellency Emmanuel Mwamba has called for a meeting with Amnesty International to discuss an alert the organization has issued on Zambian musician, Fumba Chama whose stage name is Pilato.

Mr Mwamba stated that the alert issued by Amnesty International was alarming and did not reflect the correct status of Zambia on Human Rights.

“Our country does not have any citizen that has fled into exile on account of threats on their lives because of what they said, wrote or sung about, its alien to us and unheard of”.

He said that the Government of Zambia respects human rights especially those of its citizens.

He said the rights and freedoms enjoyed by its people reflects the standing of the country as enshrined in its democratic constitution.

“Watch the videos of Opposition leaders and the manner they describe both His Excellency President Edgar Lungu, members of his Cabinet or his government. Has anything happened to them?” He asked.

He said the open and free discussions that happen on Radio and television stations demonstrates that Zambians are enjoying freedom of expression and reflects government’s respect for freedom of expression and human rights.

He dismissed the allegations that there were threats on the life of Pilato describing them as unfounded and not credible;

“ it is for this reason that we have called Amnesty International and Mr Fumba Chama for a meeting to discuss their concerns and fears” he said.

“ There is no threat on the life of Pilato from government, from state organs, or from the ruling party. But I am aware and have listened to the so called threats that arose from voice-notes and a video on a social media platform -WhatsApp group. Pilato, many political and civic players are aware of the banter and nature of such discussion and verbal exchanges on social media”.

Mr Mwamba stated that he had seen and watched on social
media similar banter regarding both ruling party and opposition youths exchanging such videos and voice-notes.

“Of course the language is unpalatable and unacceptable but that does not in anyway mean these people will be harmed or kill each other”.

He said that he hoped the meeting with both Pilato and Amnesty International would yield positive results.

“Pilato is free to live in his country of his birth, or if wishes to live in South Africa, he should do so without damaging the reputation, integrity or standing of his own country or government.”

Mwamba said President Edgar Lungu had consistently been on record condemning political violence and cadres that have broken the law have not received protection or shielding from his government.

“We had an incidence of party cadres that had a scuffle over land plots that resulted in a loss of life in M’tendere township in Lusaka. Those cadres have been jailed beyond 15years”

He said there are many political cadres that were involved in violence that were arrested and jailed.

“President Edgar Lungu has been deeply concerned about the rise of violence in politics that he even set up a Commission to enquire into the causes of violence during elections or political activities. Zambia is a democratic state and it is ideas and thoughts that should reign supreme and not violence”

He said Pilato had previously done songs that many would consider more offensive than his current satirical song and no harm or discernible threat has come to him.

Amnesty International issued an alert and called on the Zambian Authorities to immediately take steps to guarantee freedom of expression for Artist Fumba Chama.

Why Is Lungu Trying To Live In Denial?

Edgar Lungu says those who are not working are leaving his government on their own.

What work is going on in Edgar’s government? Stealing! Crookedness! Thieves, crooks are the ones who are seen to be working!

Why has Edgar been keeping people who are not working in his government, paying them taxpayer’s money until they resign on their own? Is this being responsible? And when is Edgar going to leave this government on his own because he hasn’t been working?

What work has Edgar himself been doing for the Zambian taxpayer? Appointing and supervising people who are not working? Gallivanting around and collecting allowances at a very high cost to the taxpayer!

If it’s true that those leaving his government on their own are those who had not been working, then Edgar himself must also leave on his own because he has not been working.

What Edgar is claiming, although we all know it’s a lie, in itself shows that there’s a very serious problem in his government – it’s a troubled government where the President can’t fire those who are not working!

Edgar is living in denial. He can’t face reality that things aren’t alright in his government. Now he thinks the best thing to say to comfort himself is that those leaving his government are not working.

At the same time, he talks about being a coach and that he decides who and when to fire his “team players”. What he shouldn’t forget is that coaches do get fired also for failing to make team members perform. The failure of Edgar’s ministers is ultimately his own because he’s the one who appoints them. In fact coaches are usually kicked out before players are made to leave. When the team is not doing well, the fans call for the dismissal of the coach.

Edgar seems to be in double thinking. And doublethink means the power of holding two contradictory beliefs in one’s mind simultaneously, and accepting both of them.

They are very right when they say that “to see what is in front of one’s nose needs a constant struggle…In a time of deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act…If you can feel that staying human is worthwhile, even when it can’t have any result whatever, you’ve beaten them,” wrote George Orwell.

Clearly, Edgar has some great battles to fight within the silent chambers of his own soul. It’s said that the deepest rivers make least din, the silent soul doth most abound in care. They say that clouds cannot cover secret places, nor denials conceal truth. Edgar’s denial of his problems will not solve them. You can’t solve a problem you are denying exists. But denial does not make the problem go away. And denial of what everyone can see will not give Edgar peace of mind, which is what he is really seeking when he engages in it.

Edgar lives in denial of what he does, even what he thinks. He does this because he is afraid. It seems Edgar would rather deny the problems in his government arising from corruption than face them. Why? But he can’t get away from himself, his problems by denying them and moving from one place to another – gallivanting.

Edgar’s denial of his situation, problems and their consequences is to put a lie into the lips of his own life. It is no less than a denial of the soul. Now what state does Edgar live in? Denial!

Amilcar Cabral urged, “Always bear in mind that the people are not fighting for ideas, for the things in anyone’s head. They are fighting to win material benefits, to live better and in peace, to see their lives go forward, to guarantee the future of their children…Hide nothing from the masses of our people. Tell no lies. Expose lies whenever they are told. Mask no difficulties, mistakes, failures. Claim no easy victories…”

THE Auditor General has revealed that NATSAVE has been spending some money without backing documentation. And the report has further revealed that NATSAVE has not been remitting Pay As You Earn to the Zambia Revenue Authority despite deducting the money from employees.

And the Auditor General says the bank is paying rural hardship allowances to members of its staff who are not in designated rural areas. According to the latest edition of the Auditor General’s report on parastatals and statutory institutions, there was significant breakdown of internal controls due to the failure to install the core banking system.

“Expenditure that lacked supporting documentation. Significant breakdown of internal controls due to the failed installation of the core banking system – Rubikon,” the report states.

The report also reveals that some NATSAVE employees who were not in designated rural areas were paid over K60, 000 as rural hardship allowances.

“It is, however, observed that during the period under review, 11 employees who were based in areas that are not designated as rural areas were irregularly paid hardship allowances in amounts totaling K68,677,” states the report.

The report further reveals that NATSAVE had not been remitting PAYE to ZRA.

“Contrary to the Act (Tax Act section 71), NATSAVE did not remit to ZRA [the] PAYE deducted from its employees’ remuneration. In this regard, as of July 2017, ZRA was owed K 8,087,161 in outstanding PAYE,” states the report. On loans, the report reveals that over 400 customers of the bank had loans which, in the system, indicated had been fully paid while not.

“A review of the loan listing portfolio revealed that 402 customer loan accounts were initially classified as fully paid but still had debit balances on them. Subsequently, the bank carried out a data cleaning exercise in January 2017 which revealed that that the 402 customers owing amounts totaling K560,598 which were initially classified as having been fully paid, were not actually settled,” the report reveals.

“As of June 2017, management had not informed its customers of the fact that they would be required to make additional payments for the loans which previously were thought to be fully serviced.”

Sudan Wont Be Easy Says Wedson

CHIOLOPOLO coach Wedson Nyirenda says Zambia’s objective of lifting the CHAN trophy has not changed after his team was put under the knife in the 1-1 draw against Namibia on Monday.

And Nyirenda said his team was complacent against the Brave Warriors.

With both teams already qualified to the next stage, Chipolopolo put up a lacklustre performance against the pre-tournament underdogs who outplayed Chipolopolo for some periods of the game.

However, the more experienced Chipolopolo managed to hold firm and finished top of Group B to set up a quarter final clash against Group A runners-up Sudan on Saturday.

Zambia were caught early in the first half when Absalom Kamutyasa’s long range free kick bounced awkwardly behind the human wall and caught goalkeeper Toaster Nsabata off-guard to put Namibia in the lead on 12 minutes.

But Zambia regrouped and pinned Namibia in their own area putting them on the back foot to equalise in the 24th minute through Lazarous Kambole.

Zambia could have put the match beyond Namibia’s reach but Kambole was guilty of two clear opportunities later on and so was Friday Samu’s lack of killer instincts when it mattered most.

In the second half, it was all Namibia as Zambia’s reliable players failed to tick with Nsabata proving vital as he twice denied the Warriors from a face-to-face situation.

“First and foremost, we came into this tournament with the aim of winning this cup. We may go through some obstacles here and there, but that is the name of football. We are getting somewhere,” Nyirenda said.

He said meeting Sudan in the quarter finals will be a difficult challenge but expected his players to rise to the challenge because they have the character to work under pressure as shown in the Namibia game.

“We are going to meet Sudan in Marrakech, not an easy game. Every game that we have played has not been easy. You saw the way Namibia was coming at us, it was not an easy game. My players were very complacent and thought it was going to be an easy game. We were shocked in the first half, Namibia got the goal first but we reacted and came with an equaliser through our young boy Lazarus. One thing I can say about the team is that they have shown a lot of character that they want to win despite all the difficulties that we are getting into at times…My team did not come to the party today, we did not play our game. I think we were so complacent in this game. Sudan is a good team but we will prepare for them,” said Nyirenda.

His opposite number Ricardo Manneti was on cloud nine having managed to beat two group favourites and holding one of the tournament’s favourites Zambia to qualify as group runners up against all odds.

“As for Namibia, we are overwhelmed by the fact that we are in the quarterfinals, there is something good for our nation. We showed that we can play different football. The first two games were about the result and getting out of the group. After getting out of the group whether we meet Sudan or Morocco was secondary to us. Tonight we showcased that we can play good football and the team is strong,” He said.

He said his players would enjoy the occasion against the home side in the other quarter final.

“Now that we know that are playing Morocco I do not think that we should be under any pressure as Namibia the stadium is going to be packed (80, 000). My players are going to enjoy the occasion, they will love it. We are tired of playing in empty stadiums, we deserve playing in the quarterfinals and we deserve to play before a full stadium. I am looking forward to play Morocco on Saturday,” said Manneti.

According to health minister Dr Chitalu Chilufya, the cumulative number of cases in other parts of the country stood at 216 with eight deaths

Dr Chilufya said during a briefing at his office this afternoon that Kanyama continued to record a high number of cases, with16 yesterday.

He said the ministry had, however, continued to increase access to clean and safe water as well as burying shallow wells, which appeared to be the main drivers of the epidemic.

“We have one case in Matero (George) and three in Chawama (one Jack, one old Chawama, and one Makeni. I Am Not Available For The Meeting, Sorry – PILATO

By nature humans don’t listen to what is said but to who is saying it. That is why it is very important for every leader to posses a certain level of integrity because it doesn’t matter what you say, it matters who is saying it.

Ambassador Emmanuel Mwamba lacks this level of integrity. All he needs is a good pay and he will say anything. He speaks out of duty not out of conviction. He has no reputation for caring or speaking for victims. He is simply a make-up artist for criminal acts even against his own brothers and sisters. He survives by justifying corruption and the corrupt. This is a brilliant young man who has offered himself to serve as a mop for cruelty and crimes against humanity. His job is to lie to the president that the international community is under his armpit, but what is worrying is the fact that he is squandering his own future just to stay relevant today. I fail to understand why he is so much in a hurry to discredit himself and the office that he holds. Maybe this is something we should pray for as a country.

Against this background, i find it hard to sit in a meeting with a man whose job is to dress-up crimes committed by his boss. I would rather sit down with his boss instead of wasting my time in a meeting with a man who can’t speak his mind. I dont speak to shadows. I have no time for men who disrespect themselves like that. I would rather sit and talk to myself than talk to someone who has abandoned his own mind just to get a salary.

In his attempt to sound smart, he is belittling the death threats against my life. As i read his statement, I asked myself, who has paid him to embarrass himself this loudly?
Does he want to see me killed so that his government can claim not know who did it?

Do I have to die for him to know the threats were real?

The levels of desperation exhibited by ambassador Mwamba are so worrying but thats what you expect from leaders who are guided by greed and selfishness. They can do or say anything as long as they are gaining something. These are men who have cremated their own consciousness just to have a job.

My advise to the most excited and undeplomatic deplomat is, yama bukeni. You are young and intelligent, be an instrument of benefit to the people not only to those who have conspired to rob our country. You are sacrificing too much for too little. Wake up my brother and see that there’s something more to life than just money and power. Quit being a devil’s pawn and let the light of God shine in your life.

Thank you

Chipolopolo coach Wedson Nyirenda says Sudan will be a much tougher test than the previous encounters at the ongoing African Nations Championship (CHAN).

Nyirenda told Fazfootball.com in Marrakech that his lads would be stepping up gear in the quarterfinal tussle to ensure that they qualified into the semi finals on Saturday.

“Sudan is not a pushover team, they have been a thorn in our flesh most of the time we have played them,” he said.
“Going into this game it is not going to be easy, they gave Morocco a very good run and they are playing very well, they are highly tactical and disciplined players.”

He added: “I think we need to adhere to our tactical plan and rise up to the occasion better than we did against Namibia and these other games.”

Nyirenda said that his lads had been improving as the tournament has progressed.

“As the games are moving to the next stages, the games are getting tougher. The teams that are remaining are doing their best, the coaches must do their best and players too,” he said.

He also expressed happiness at the fortitude Marrakech has provided for the Chipolopolo having won all their matches and become the defacto home team.

Zambia will play Sudan on Saturday at the Grand Stade de Marrakech in a 21:30 hours (Zambian time) kickoff with the match live on pay television channel SuperSport.
