A 57-year-old newly-widowed woman and her 64-year-old lover, Raymond Burr, 64 were spared some jail time after having sex on a c2c train from London to Basildon, Essex, in May.

Passengers who witnessed the lewd act between the pair reportedly asked Burr to stop pleasuring Tobyn both orally and digitally, but he declined. They were however stopped by police when they arrived at Pitsea.

Prosecutor Patrick Duffy said: ‘The first witness was with her grandson.

‘There were children in the carriage, confirmed by the second witness who said there were children aged between one and six on the train. It was lewd behaviour.

‘After the incident, the two got off the train at Pitsea and were stopped by a transport officer. Mr Burr gave his name but Ms Tobyn gave her name as Janet Green.’

Tobyn initially pleaded not guilty during her first court appearance in June this year, but changed her plea to guilty at Basildon crown court on August 2.

The couple got a lenient sentencing as they were ordered to engage in community service. Burr was told to carry out 100 hours of community service while Tobyn was told to do 150 hours.

Judge Samantha Leigh said: ‘It’s deeply unpleasant but I’m well aware of the age and the lack of previous convictions.

‘They are both adults and they are capable of making their own decisions. You were travelling back from London on a c2c train when you engaged in lewd behaviour.

‘One of the witnesses had her young grandson with her and could see what was going on. She stood up and spoke to you, she asked you to desist but you didn’t.

‘There were other children in the carriage and 6pm is a busy time. You were both drinking at the time.’

Opinion: PF Swallow You Pride, Accept That Opposition Are Partners In Governance

By Maiko Mwanza

Only someone who doesn’t stay in Zambia or a Rich kid who has no family in most rural Zambia or who has no family which depend on mealie meal as food or a connected cadre who has it all times.
Instead of PF appreciating that HH has come on board to help control the hunger situation, the least PF can write is HH is desperate for State House
Swallow your Pride PF, accept that HH is a partner in Governance then things will be ok for Zambians. As an affected Zambian with hunger, I wish HH could donate to me too the mealie meal he donated to Bauleni. I wish HH could donate more to different parts of Zambia affected by hunger.

PF SG Davies Mwila talks as Mumbai Phiri looks on

We have seen on Camera PF holding ceremonies at Party Secretariat where a named politician donated 4,000 bags of unga, yesterday we say Kafue DC on camera distributing *12kg* unga in kafue, we have seen DMMU sending the so called maize to Monze, we have seen on camera people fighting to buy a bag of roller meal, we have seen on camera Hon Bowman donating unga in his constituency, we have unga branded by Hon Sikazwe being distributed in Mpulungu, we have seen unga prices going up on justification that we have no maize, it’s on record Hon Vice President asking Zambians to think of alternative meals, we have seen Catholic Bishops and other churches asking for donations to rise funds to help the hunger situation in Zambia, etc. What more do we want to hear for us to say the situation is bad in Zambia. He saw on Camera the out going British Ambassador asking Zambia to declare itself hunger disaster.
Now that HH has joined the race, ati he is desperate.
Swallow your pride, don’t use politics on hunger. People are dying, these are the people who voted for you. Think about them. They want food just as you do, just as you want votes from them.
Actually PF is making HH more popular because majority of Zambia affected by hunger want food.
PF stop playing games on this situation.

Opposition EEP Secretary General Stanely Malama says recent pronouncements by opposition UPND supremo Hakainde Hichilema that Zambia’s hunger is a national disaster is as a result of low self esteem.
In a statement, Malama writes;

“UPND leader Mr. Hakainde Hichilema has reportedly declared hunger a national disaster.

One of the Effects of low self esteem is what Mr Hichilema did to declare hunger a national disaster. Even when he understands that his declaration Wil not make any impact because is not the head of state. This is the reason why is busy distributing mealie meal in Lusaka instead of Southern province where serious hunger is reported.

Let’s pray for him before effects of low self esteem take him into depression.”

What Is So Special About KBF?

Kelvin Fube Bwalya – KBF held a press briefing two days ago and all major politically interested parties are having a field day.

At the PF Secretariat, we have one group pushing out positive material on what KBF said and we have another group pushing out negative material on both KBF and the President.

Inside the UPND, they are in overdrove with their media unit working overtime to spin the KBF story.

We have just witnessed a heated argument between 2 very senior PF officials over the current happenings following the press briefing by KBF.

My question is why is it that every time KBF speaks, all of us go into overdrive.

I will not give my opinion on who I think is right and who I think is wrong but I think that it is dangerous for a few senior members in PF to hate KBF so much that in fighting him they drag the President into malicious propaganda.

Why, why, why must all programs come to a stand still just to direct all our energies to KBF.

What about KBF scares political opponents so much that for 3 days all we are being made to do is fight KBF?

What is really going on here to the extent that we must start creating propaganda against our own President in our fight against KBF? I understand the benefit that UPND has in fighting KBF and advancing propaganda but for us as PF, my question is are we so dull that we do things just because? I think we need direction!

About 50,000 Teachers Unemployed In Zambia

The National Action for Quality Education in Zambia (NAQEZ) has revealed that the country currently has about 50,000 unemployed teachers.

And NAQEZ is concerned with the swelling number of trained teachers who are unemployed and fears this will soon produce social, economic and political turbulences if not addressed urgently.

NAQEZ Executive Director, Aaron Chansa says these numbers are a clear indication that the private sector cannot employ anymore and that government has no capacity to absorb all these teachers.

Mr. Chansa tells phoenix news that NAQEZ is in possession of information to the effect that some of its people who trained and graduated more than 7 years ago are still without teaching jobs, showing fertile ground for untold corruption, nepotism and favoritism when selecting teachers who apply for jobs.

He said NAQEZ therefore proposes that the two Ministries of Education must stop training teachers in social Sciences and only train in subjects where teachers are in critical supply and Private Colleges must be regulated by government on the number and type of teachers to train.

Mr. Chansa argues that the country cannot just be training teachers who end up nowhere further proposing that the Teaching Council of Zambia critically screens most private colleges as some of these colleges are unsuitable for teacher training and must be shut.

He is further proposing that the Ministry of Higher Education should urgently put Lecturers in Trade Schools on government payroll as this will attract qualified teaching staff in these very important training institutions, and many young people will easily be persuaded to go for technical trainings.

Mines Minister Richard Musukwa says the decline in copper production for 2019 should not be attributed to government’s plans to introduce a new mining tax regime.

Further, the Mines Minister says it sad that a number of mining companies have not been transparent for years as they have always failed to declare dividends to government.

Mr Musukwa says as a result, this has had a negative bearing on the overall performance of the sector both in the short and long term.

The 20.5 million US Dollars 300 megawatts of power imports from South Africa’s ESKOM will only be for 30 days, Energy Minister Mathew Nkhuwa has said.

And Mr Nkhuwa could not disclose how much the electricity will cost per Kilowatt Hour despite Members of Parliament querying on the matter.

He however broke down the cost of the 300 megawatts saying 13.5 Million US Dollars will be for the actual power while 7 million US Dollars will go towards transporting the power from South Africa to Zambia.

In a Ministerial statement to Parliament, the Minister maintained that there will be an upward tariff adjustment which will be around double the current cost to meet the cost of the imported power.

Meanwhile, Mr Nkhuwa said Zambia has continued to export power to Malawi and the Democratic Republic of Congo despite the power deficit.

Opinion: PF Govt Lack Of Agricultural Political Will a Source Of 2019 National Hunger Disaster

$
0

By Micheal Mwanza
We may have the courage to blame God on the rainfall pattern for 2018/19 farming season as a cause of 2019 hunger but at large The PF government lack of political will on Agriculture is a great source of 2019 hunger.
In 2017 farming harvest, we opted to export our maize to East Africa claiming we would make $13million on export forgetting we have a nation to feed.
As if that was not enough, In 2018 the government allocated a raw deal through FRA to Farmers when we had a good harvest of maize. Very little money was allocated for the purchase of maize and the government further allowed farmers to sale their maize elsewhere. If I remember well, Dora Siliya then Agriculture Minister allowed this. FRA price was as low as k65 then increased to k70 for 50kg maize. On a sad note in 2018 FRA only managed to buy 100,000 metric tonnes of maize instead of the usual 500,000 metric tonnes. Farmers opted to sale their produce elsewhere as it was allowed.
Further if you look at FISP and its e-voucher, farmers where getting farming inputs in January, February others even March when rains were almost ending. I wonder how complicated this FISP has become but lack of political will on Agriculture has now paid us with this hunger strike. Before we blame rains, let’s look at our system. Truth be told, we had the rains to grow and mature our maize but delivery of farming inputs was late and compromised. Some farmers never even gotten got the inputs. Some farmers who sold maize to FRA in 2018 delayed to get their money and hence had no money to prepare for 2018/19 farming season.
Other than the blame on rains, I blame the govt on this. Had it been that we bought enough maize through FRA to stock in 2018, this situation would have been control.

Malama: Most Zambian MP’s Have Character Deficit In Leadership, Their Stomach Comes First Before Serving the People

$

The measure of a Man’s Character (Leadership) is what he would do if he knew he would never be found out.” I have often said that what would ultimately destroy a man going to high places in life is not really the enemies that are waiting for him there, but the character ( Leadership ) that followed him there.

I have Watched how Members of Parliament Self-sabotage themselves by seeking Spiritual solutions to Character – Deficit issues. They look around at everybody as suspects for their predicaments when their greatest demons lurks within them, their character towards the voters.

MP’z have become so Spiritually in tune through Prayers. Such that they neglect the place of Character and their relationship with people. Many MP’z are actually ‘heavenly’ bound, but with no earthly relevance.

You can Speak with Spiritual eloquence, Pray in public and maintain a Holy appearance, but it is your Behavior and Character ( Leadership ) that will actually trigger the manifestation of all that God has for you.

What we often call our destiny is truly our character, and since that character can change, then destiny can be altered. Character ( Leadership ) is destiny and voter’s can change someone’s destiny.

There is no amount of Spiritual penance that can substitute for Character. Sometimes, you need character, not prayer. The best index to a person’s character is how he treats people who can’t do him any good, and how he treats people who can’t fight back.

I want to say emphatically that character is not optional. No matter where you place prayers, character matters. The greatest fraud in life is religion without character. A man without character is recklessly alive. MP’z this one is for you.
